My End: A Boromir Poem (txt)

Post by Queen of Gondor » Tue Aug 02, 2005 5:35 pm

I haven't posted a poem in quite some time, but I thought I'd give it a try on these new boards. I hope it's ok. I know it's of the same topic that I've done twice before ( ), but there aren't enough words to say about it. Please bear with me...

My End

I could feel myself falling,
eternity passing me by,
the pain tearing at me,
and I knew I was approching
my end.

Black death protruded from me.
Crafted by the hands of the enemy,
imbedded with poison,
created only to bring me to
my end.

Light faded and night came forth,
revealing bright stars
glittering above white towers.
And silver trumpets sounded as I drew to
my end.

As my sight blurred
and my breathing lessened,
I shed a tear for all that I had done,
for all that I would miss because of
my end.

Will I be deemed worthy
for the halls of my fathers?
Will my bravery be written in history,
will people remember me, and
my end?

~Queenie~

What a beautiful image placed in the center of such a sad subject - and the ending is poignant too. Thank you, Queenie - by all means, do keep "saying" what your heart wants to say.

You are right, there are not enough words to express all we feel about the end of this great, worthy man -- thank you for continuing to be inspired by his struggle. This is beautiful, of course.

I'm very happy to see you back posting here, my dear!

Truly heartbreaking, (((((Queenie)))))!!! I agree that your imagery is incredible and I can't wait to see what your heart brings forth next! Boromir is honored when we remember him in such a way. :wings:

Write to your heart's content, mellon nin!

Aaaaawww... ((((((((((Queens))))))))) It's so incredibly awesome to read one of your poems again! It's been waaaay too long girlie!

This is incredible. Awesome, moving use of language, great characterisation, and a very Tolkienesque feel to it. Thanks sis. Love you. *Hugs!*
