For me Sunday is a day to take it easy, so I had scrambled eggs on toast with loads of pepper. I LOVE eggs !

Barbecue!!!

Post by lindorie » Sun Aug 14, 2005 7:11 pm

Neither my sister nor I felt like cooking tonight so we decided to go out for barbecue. I had the pork ribs, she had the special, a sliced beef brisket dinner. There is one thing about living down here that I would miss if I moved back to Oregon and that is good barbecue. I have really learned to appreciate a dry rub brisket and a good sauce added on the side.

Barbecue in this area is nothing like I ever had in California, Oregon, Iowa, Maryland...any of the more northern areas of the country. I would love to try some of the barbecue styles in other parts of the country especially Kansas City and Memphis. There is nothing like brisket cooked all day on a low fire....Yummmm!

Stuffed shells - now there's something we haven't had in a long time, and very yummy. Never any leftovers there.

Tuna with sprouts and broccoli-tomato salad here. I wish the weather would change just enough we could bake something without heating up the house. Lindorie's barbecue sounds faboo too!

Chicken cordon-bleu... just the prefab kind. Beats the cold cereal we ended up with yesterday. I don't seem to be motivated to cook this week.

I had cottage cheese, a couple chocolate shakes, and some ice cream. I can't eat much of anything else because I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed Wednesday. *sigh. I'm sore.*
