True, Ladyhawk! Now, if they'd just get ripe!!!!
He wore a tall pointed blue hat, a long grey cloak, and a silver scarf. He had a long white beard and bushy eyebrows that stuck out beyond the brim of his hat.

Prim - the roses are beautiful!
Ashlyn - that's one prolific tomato plant! But I hear that in the South, y'all don't bother letting them get ripe... you just fry 'em up.

If the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence... water your grass.

DoK - some people down here may fry green tomatoes up, but not this ol' girl! Ick!!
And, there are cherry tomatoes, not regular sized tomatoes. I'll try to get a couple of pics uploaded. If not here, then FaceBook, and John can show the pics to you!

Pictures from the Fathers Day Garden...
The Red Poblano peppers are doing well...
And we have a new banana sprout...
which grow into these.....
Which become these...
The winery is clearly not ready, so Barliman will have to wait...
But the figs are rearing to go...
But perhaps some plums, to make a nice fruity mead?
And hope for some homegrown guacamole are still alive...
I'll have to charge my phone and get some of the Pomegranates for Yar to look at. Not great, but doing OK.
And Ashlyn, I'll take any fried green tomatoes you don't want, as I find them pretty awesome! But I won't try to make you like 'em. (more for me! ;-) )

That is one impressive harvest, Doc.
We've barely got past our last frost. Such a short growing period here in the high desert.

It's been a really wet spring. Many things are going crazy. I have ripe limes right beside little ones about half ripe, and new Barbie limes on the same branch. And tons of lemons and oranges. It has been crazy.

What an amazing garden, Doc!

Thanks, Ladyhawk! I really should be more vigilant about it, but had to fix the fence today. Not a hard job, but I'm tired and have a rehearsal to get to.

I wish I could grow a garden like that! Very impressive!
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Oooooh! Fabulous! Except the grapes, of course - they're still hobbit-sized bunches I see.
Wonderful to see your plant babies doing so well, they obviously like you.
It's been so unseasonally warm up here that my yard is already glowing with orange and yellow daylilies that don't usually open til late July or August - My yard goes from purple to blue-n-white to red-n-pink to yellow-n-orange over the course of each year but it's careening into later-summer yellow already - which makes me wonder what the later summer will look like! We already have raspberries and marionberries too.

Re: How does your garden grow?
Our garden has been wonderful to us this winter. Radishes, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, onions (so many onions!!), spinach, mustard greens. With lettuce and carrots on the way. I still just get a huge kick out of being able to go outside and grab something to munch. Have to admit my husband does most of the work of 'growing'. I primarily help with harvest, preservation, and of course, consumption!

Sounds wonderful! I miss having a garden where I can grow tomatoes -- there is nothing that tastes so good as a homegrown tomato!

Re: How does your garden grow?
I would love a garden, but am reduced to a Areogarden, where I grow my herbs.
We moved into a small place, and now have gravel. Maybe I will grow some veggies in a barrel.

Re: How does your garden grow?
My old house had a great backyard for growing plants. The new house needs some trees. Here's hoping I get some for next spring.
May also plant Gooseberries and Kiwi vines. Here's hoping!
