Glenn Yarbrough, a founding member of folk trio The Limeliters, has died. He was 86.
The folk singer's daughter, Holly Yarbrough Burnett, says he died surrounded by friends and family at home Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee, after suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, dementia and other health issues.
Yarbrough sang and played guitar with fellow Limeliters members Lou Gottlieb and Alex Hassilev from 1959 and 1963.

The group was known for such songs as "There's a Meetin' Here Tonight," ''City of New Orleans," ''A Dollar Down" and "Lonesome Traveler."
Glenn Yarbrough sang in "The Hobbit" in 1970.

Ah, bless him! So glad that he was surrounded by family. A great comfort, I'm sure.
Have to watch the cartoon now.
Thanks for passing on the info.
There was also a Strange Elf clad in green and brown, Legolas,..... (FOTR, The council of Elrond)

I was an early fan of Glenn's since childhood. My favorite of his was "Seven Daffodils".
