Karl Urban's brother?

Post by Harthad » Mon Jan 18, 2010 4:19 pm

I was watching this t.v. show and this guy was on and he had the last name Urban! I know that a lot of people have that name but this guy was from NZ and he said his brother was an actor. Anyone know who I'm talking about cause I forgot his name. :(

Karl Urban's brother?

Post by Strange Elf » Mon Jan 18, 2010 4:45 pm

Was it Keith Urban? He's a singer married to Nicole Kidman. I've never looked into his life, and don't know if he is related to our Karl or not.

I guess it's time to google.

I'm back! No, Karl Urban and Keith Urban don't seem to be related, and although I read about two brothers, I don't see any names or other information concerning who they are or if they also act.

Both Karl and Keith are from New Zealand, but I don't think that they are brothers. Keith moved at a relatively young age to Australia, while Karl has lived in New Zealand most of his life. I suppose they could be half siblings, but I don't think so. More likely cousins or something. Thus far I havent found anything that says that they are related.

At this point, I haven't found anything that says Karl has siblings.

Actually, I just found a site that says that Karl is the only child of a german immigrant. karlurbanonline.com. This site also specifically says that Karl is NOT related to Keith.

It must have been Keith Urban. He is an Australian country singer and is married to Nicole Kidman. He's very famous here, although I don't know why. Country music is horrible.

Obviously a question they've had to deal with before.

Sounds like you have only been exposed to the modern 'pop' side of country music. I'm not a big fan of the country music scene but I like some artists new and old. If you dig deep enough some real gems can be found.

Keith Urban is actually one of the better artists. He is popular in the US too.

I just posted this because it had to do with Karl Urban. I really don't like country music at all!

So, Karl Urban thread then. Sweet!

I thought he was a spectacular Eomer. However, Karl Urban IS Bones!

I have never liked Bones in the series, something about him rubbed me up the wrong way. Then the other week I watched the Star Trek movie, and I LOVED Karl's version of Bones.

My hushand got the Star Trek movie set for Christmas, I've been watching them with him, and now I love Bones.

Go figure!

This is such a great movie. It is very refreshing to finally see some Star Trek with an altered time line where they don't spend half the story trying to fix the time line.

When Bones made his first appearance in the shuttle craft I was floored by Karl's character. I'm used to seeing him in LotR, Doom, The Chronicles of Riddick so his Bones role really took me by surprise.

I didn't recognise him either; my husband had to point it out.

I <3 DeForrest Kelly. But it's true. Karl really was Bones in the new movie.

Karl Urban is coming to Melbourne for some geek con and I am so going and I hope that I can see him. James Marsters from Buffy will be there too. It'll be like a dream come true!

There's a modern 'pop' side of country music? Oh God. How horrible. The old stuff is bad enough without it spreading.
