Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Post by yaviel_of_lorien » Sat Sep 17, 2005 7:43 am

Has anyone else here heard about it???

If you have it is a hilarious movie, awesome book, and I'm not sure about the radio series because I didn't listen to it.

If you do know about it, this will probably make sense:
ZAPHOD FOR PRESIDENT!!! [I definitely voted for him! ]

elvish pride!

Love the books, haven't seen the movie yet. I keep trying to get my husband to read them but haven't managed yet. Definately a delight that can't be shared with those who haven't read it. It's endlessly confusing as it is to those who have!

How true, how true! But, then again, I think that is what I like the most about it. It is as confusing as the thoughts in my head, so it really fits in! LOL!

I've enjoyed much of the books, but never did manage to see the movie when it was in the theaters. I have the BBC radio version on tape and we had good fun listening to it on long car trips.

"It looks like South End."

"But something is strange..."

"You mean the way the ocean stays steady as a rock and all the buildings keep washing up and down?"

"Yeah. I thought that was odd too."

 I'll have to rent the show just to see what they did with it.

I was just recently introduced to Hitchhiker... and get the biggest kick out of it. I now have my family going on it, too, although they think I'm pretty strange still.

"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." ;-)

I also love his Dirk Gently stories -- Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and the Long Dark Teatime of the Soul. We found them at our library on tape (and CD) read by the author. :-) Very, very funny.

The movie is sooo different from the book, but still as random and hilarious. The story line is just different!

I'm having withdrawal symtoms 'cause I wanna see the movie so bad right now!!!

*deep breath, deep breath* Help me!!!

Yes! It is soo true that you have to know Hitchhiker's to understand it.

To quote Zaphod [my favorite freak]:
"If there's anything more important than my ego, I want it shot and killed right now." Ah! Such a great president!!! (seriously!)
