Recently began re-reading the original James Bond novels by Ian Fleming. Quite different from the films on many counts, especially in my current read Moonraker. Both have their charms, but I admit to preferring the books. I guess for a writer like myself I especially appreciate the power of the written word to convey a world, action, a character.
Anyone else diverged from Tolkien long enough to delve into espionage?
