It was singing in the fair elven-tongue, of which Frodo knew only a little, and the others knew nothing.
He wore a tall pointed blue hat, a long grey cloak, and a silver scarf. He had a long white beard and bushy eyebrows that stuck out beyond the brim of his hat.

It ain't what I call proper poetry, if you understand me: just a bit of nonsense.
Don't blame me for the size of my ego, it's just proportionate to the size of my genius!

'So I see,' said Sam. 'No time for washing, but time for wall-propping.'

The rules are simple... it's basically a conversation... storyline... thing, wherein all of the posts are quotes from LOTR (movie or book), or The Hobbit or The Sil. They can be actual quotes of something a character said, or descriptive phrases, or whatever, as long as they come from ME. Go back and read a few pages and you'll get the idea. Then jump in and join us! :D

If only I had my book with me, I'd add the next line.

Someone else will have to do it instead. Play on!

Sam was standing by the pony, sucking his teeth, and staring moodily into the gloom where the river roared stonily below; his desire for adventure was at its lowest ebb.

But at that same moment there was a flash, as if lightning had sprung from the earth beneath the city.

The darkness receded from it until it seemed to shine in the centre of a globe or airy crystal, and the hand that held it sparkled with white fire.
"I'm a Hobbit, and I know I can't save Middle-Earth. I just want to help my friends. More than anything I wish I could see them again."

...walking on its fingers towards Sam, who was lying nearest.

Merry stooped and lifted the hand to kiss it.

'Well, that's a warning to us all!' laughed Merry.
