Doh! I keep forgetting to use the subject line...txt

Post by GondorianGirl » Tue Aug 02, 2005 7:39 pm

*smacks self in forehead* well, I guess I didn't this time! LOL! Seriously, that is what made the "old" board great and now I'm forgetting to do that which I love so much!

Ok, so now I vow...*raises hand* I will use the subject line correctly. If what I want to say will fit in the subject line I will use 'nt'; if I have more to say, I will use 'txt' and continue in the subject box."

There. I'm such a nerd, I needed to vow to you, my fellow Ringers, so I will actually follow through!

*throws confetti* let the celebrations continue!!!

The skills are a bit rusty, but I think we'll get it back up to speed in no time.

I just wish the typeface wasn't so small (txt)

Post by sarahstitcher » Thu Aug 04, 2005 11:28 am

and it looks like it won't even fit much text. which in itself is ok, but being so tiny it's easy to overlook when reading the thread.

Subject line adjustments...(txt)

Post by Primula » Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:44 pm

We've got it on the list to things to try to change - we'd like to make it accept longer subject lines by word-wrapping them, but it'll be a bit until we can tackle it.

Even if all you can do is enlarge or bold the subject, it doesn't have to be all that long. (((Prim))) you are so great! :D

Don't worry about it. Although I must confess that . . .

Post by DoctorGamgee » Thu Aug 04, 2005 9:27 pm

I have never understood the need to put TXT in the message line. It seems that if it is not designated (NT), which means "No text", then any other post would therefore have text and not need the TXT to let folks know this. Thus, it has always been my habit to use the elipse (. . .) as most of mine are only half way through t a sentence.

But, to each their own.

I know some folks will use (m) for "more" - there seems to be quite a bit of individuality in it. :cyclops:

By the way, I just added several of the more useful smilies from the old place - heh... :salute:

This is so wonderful...Prim, you and Treblemaker absolutely rule! You have no idea how lovely it is to see the LOTR boards with a threaded view again!
