Home. Tired. A good time was had by all. There may be pictures... I haven't downloaded my camera yet. More details later, after I have a nap.
Time to start thinking about Texas Moot 2011... when and where.

Y'all have no idea how much I really, REALLY wanted to come! It is so rare that I get to see any of you, and love you all dearly. But the insanity of this summer and the new semester has just been beyond frantic.
I was just given two new classes last week to teacj, which usually is not a big deal, as I have taught them many times before. However, with the new House Bill which changed my status from free academician to a 'Lesson Plan Writing' monster has just flummoxed me.
And while I have complied, the simple fact is that for some classes, you can't really plan what you are going to do until you know who is in the class. Take Choir, for example. I can plan to do the Brahams Alto Rhapsody and put it up online. However, if I get 16 women and one guy (instead of the 4part mens chorus I need...) all of the planning and writing must be redone. And I must choose new literature, redo all of the work and resubmit it online, etc.
But all of that nonsense is to say that a nice weekend with friends talking Tolkien and Firefly would have been a wonderful treat. Please let me know when the next one is, and I will do my darndest to get there if at all possible.

In Shakespeare's day, men played women's parts on the stage... maybe you just need to have your 16 women sing the men's chorus.DoctorGamgee wrote:(...) the simple fact is that for some classes, you can't really plan what you are going to do until you know who is in the class. Men have falsetto to reach higher pitches. Ladies would have to speak like East-German Shot-putters to get out the low notes of the basses...daughter_of_kings wrote:In Shakespeare's day, men played women's parts on the stage... maybe you just need to have your 16 women sing the men's chorus.
But I'll keep that in mind...LOL!

So grateful to see pics! Aren't you all just fabulous?!! Who knows? Maybe next year, you'll have a Dak rat to contend with!
..the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise.

Ashlyn, thank you for posting these pics. I've been so busy catching up at work that I haven't even downloaded my pics yet.
