We are to be 85° today...I'm almost tempted to unwrap the plants...but I know that Feb is coming and that's when the one really cold weekend always hits!

We've been lucky to break 15 degrees around here in CT. It looks deceivingly like autumn outside though.

Not only that but it seems everyone has the flu. Luckily no one in my house has brought it home yet. My dad and brother have had very mild illness and there's been something wrong with me since November, but I think we've just been lucky so far.

Record high here today - 82 degrees. Cold front tomorrow expected to bring temps down about 25 degrees... back to normal.

The snow has finally arrived in the U.K. Actually, at the time of writing, it has begun to melt and a lot of folk are dreading the oncoming flooding. This last year has been totally ghastly for so many people - I just don't know how they to cope with all this continuing flooding.
We only got one day of snow on the Isle of Wight, but how I enjoyed it!! I am fortunate to have a six year old grandson who has many friends with sledges, so we had a whale of a time down at the local park. Grandson has complete lack of fear and is ready for anything, but I did manage to sneak a ride now and again!! The temperature has been way below freezing for a couple of weeks, but yesterday and today has jumped about 10 degrees - probably thanks to the perishing rain!!

Our little garden is a winter wonderland, and its snowing so hard, I can barely see the fence.

I had no idea it snowed so bad in the desert, but I sure have learned over the last 21 years.

I like to look at the snow, but I sure hate driving in it.

Snowing, though not nearly as much as you've got and not nearly as much as they predicted earlier. However, it's going to be COOOOOOOOOOOLD, with Highs in the single digits BELOW zero for the next few days. UGH! Must stay in the kitchen and keep warm by the fire!

Since it is going to be so cold, how about a great idea for adding a little cheer? Fill balloons with water, add food color, let freeze outside, then remove balloons. They look like giant marbles!

Thanks SE. It's a bit nippy here in the desert as well. Just looked out onto the patio and it's 56F out there. It's supposed to dip into the upper 40's tomorrow but should be back to our normal 60's by this weekend. brrr.
