AL3P, The Road Goes Ever On

Post by AnnaEstel » Thu Feb 07, 2013 8:06 am

Registration for A Long Expected Party 3 (AL3P) is now open at www.alep-ky.us. This is possibly the most awesome fan gathering I have ever been to. Several of us here have been, some of us twice (or I guess three times if you count the December trip?). I highly recommend it. It is held in the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill near Harrodsburg, Kentucky, a place about as Shire-like as one can get! But sign up soon, places are filling fast! It is scheduled for September 25-29 2014, so there is plenty of time to save up.

If you can't make that one another mini-gathering of the same group of folks, organized by the same organizers, is being planned for December 13-14 of this year. We will be attending a showing of the second Hobbit movie together, in costume, and I know several of us from here are already signed up to attend that gathering as well.

Hope to see some of you at either or both of these!

You know I'll be there (this Dec and AL3P)! In my usual room of course.

Who are we missing that wasn't there last time? Ladyhawk Baggins, where are you? Better hurry!

Just found out that the Ring sisters will be attending, remember two of them from the Denny's commercial?

Is the September one during or after the Texas Moot? Just curious...

Doc, AL3P is in 2014, don't know when your Texas Moot will be in 2014.

You thinking of coming to Kentucky? You'd love it!

I didn't think we'd set the date for 2014 TX moot yet! But, I'd think AnnaEstel would try to arrange that they aren't at the same time!

I wish there was a Moot closer to Connecticut. Anyone know one? Or how I could find out about one? I have zero Tolkien friends up here! PM me please

Doc looks like we would need to move Texas Moot that year, as it would likely fall the weekend right before AL3P and three of the five regular attendees will be going to Kentucky. But we can review that at this years Texas Moot.

I have decided to head to AL3P for some of that Middle earth fun and fellowship. I'm so excited to be seeing you all there. My kitchen is going to be a shambles for the next 6 weeks, so sewing/costuming will have to wait.

WOOHOO! That's great, you"ll be glad you did! Hurry and get your reservation and deposit in to Tim. And then once you've gotten your conf #, call Ann to reserve a room. ( I believe there are only 16 places and three rooms left. ) :thumb:

Now where is Ladyhawk Baggins? Hmm, are you going this time?

I remember being mathom mates with both you and Ashlyn. How cool is that? Funny I didn't recognize your real world names. So exciting.
