Texas Moot 2012 - A Baggins Birthday Party

Bilbo & Frodo Baggins!

AnnaEstel, DoctorGamgee, Firiel and I are pleased to announce that Texas Moot 2012 will take place Thursday to Sunday, September 20-23, 2012. This will be a party of particular magnificence*, in honor of the Baggins' birthdays on that Saturday.

The venue is tentatively set as the Lodge at Bastrop State Park, Bastrop, TX (the site of the 2007 Texas Moot). I say "tentatively" because they do not take reservations this far out; however, Firiel is standing by the phone to make that reservation just as soon as we're allowed, and we will update the announcement at that time.

In the meantime, we hope you will make plans to join us!


*Magnificence is measured by Texas Moot standards, which means this party will be cozy as a hobbit hole and filled with food, fun and friends... we're just hoping for more of those than usual.

Austin is closest, about 45 minutes from the park. If you fly in, let me know, as I live about 20 minutes from the airport, and would either be available for transport service, if needed, or be able to line up transport.

It's Official! We have reserved the Lodge (aka Cabin #12) at Bastrop State Park as our venue for the Texas Moot - Baggins Birthday Party - 2012!

There are other cabins available in the park, as well as campsites and RV parking. Here are the cabin/campsite descriptions and the online reservation page.

There are also several hotels and motels in Bastrop, just a few minutes or so from the park, including:

Holiday Inn Express & Suites

Just a 'bump' to remind folks to look into booking their cabins/rooms for Texas Moot 2012! Myself and Firiel toured the park shortly after it reopened and all the cabins are fine. We are planning a party of special magnificence, so chime in and join us!

We are doin this!! There is room for one more in the lodge, I'll double check to see what the current rooming arrangements are. You would have to room with someone, if that's ok with you. If you'd rather not you'll need to check into the cabins at the park or a room at some of the Bastrop hotels. There is some info above. I do so hope you can make it!!

I wish I could have come, but it's my sorority's homecoming reunion that week-end and I'm on the committee putting the thing together. I know you all will have such a wonderful time!
