Faces to the Name - images okay

Post your images of what you look like, if you want to. If you are a minor, please be sure it is okay with your folks that you do. Participation is completely optional, and just for fun.

Please keep your picture images to this thread only.

Keep them small in size (for the sake of others who have to upload them, and to fit them in the page without skewing the whole board).

Please post pictures of yourself here rather than of your friends, family, family pets, grandma's vacation in the Bahamas, etc. etc. - There are services like Photobucket and Shutterfly that may be of use to you if you want to share multiple images about your life.

It's really quite simple, once you know the trick.

You need to open an account (free) at a hosting service (I use Photobucket ). Then you can upload pics directly from your computer to your album on the site. Once they are there, all you have to do is highlight the link below the selected picture that says Img. Once you highlight the image link, right click and copy, then open a text box here and right click paste the link.

Type whatever subject line and message you want, with the link for the image at whatever point in the post you like. Be sure to preview your post, for two reasons: 1) to see how big your pic is going to look here - If it is too big, it will stretch the board and make it look funky. Plus it will be more difficult for people to view, since they will have to scroll to look at the image, and may not even be able to see the whole thing at one time. Also, the bigger the pic, the longer the loading time, and that can kill dialup users. (Now, a tip, if your pic is too large, the hosting site will most likely offer a resizing option. On Photobucket, it is reached thru the edit button above your pic, and you can make the pic 75%, 50%, or 25% of the original. Start with 75% and work down, if you have to; you can resize down, but not back up, so be careful.) Plus, 2) you want to be sure the link works, right?

So, you've done all that and everything looks good, right? So go ahead, what are you waiting for? Hit that Submit button!

Thanks Lith. Between you, Lin and m4sure I have now opened a photobucket account. I have been trying to get a decent sized picture up, but so far they are too big, even downsizing them. I'm probably doing something wrong, so I will keep on plugging away (like any of you care to see my picture on the page, but it strokes my ego ). You guys are great! Thanks again . SE
