Re: Going, going, gone
Don't go!!! Our group is small enough as it is. It took me some time to figure out DW, but it's not bad at all if you stick to the basic community page (The LOTRfanclub Community). I don't go to the Reading page or to my journal page anymore because there are people in those sections that were never...

Re: New Home - lotrfellowship info here
Since I'm now retired, I'm spending a lot of time organizing my records, which will include pictures. I have the pix from the conventions on my computer, so I do look at them from time to time. They bring back good memories. I connected on the new site with one of Prim's posts and asked her the same...

Re: New Home - lotrfellowship info here
I'm in the same boat, SE. Having some trouble figuring this out. I've been to the new site a few times, but am seeing very little. I'm on it now and all I see is 3 posts under the "Member Posts", but nothing under "Recent Entries" or "Archive". I just figured out, as I'm writing this, on how to get ...

Re: Hunting for a new home for the Fellowship
Good to see you too, Strange Elf. I retired a little over a month ago, so have more free time and plan to spend some of it reacquainting with old friends. Cheers!!!

Re: New Home Discussion
Glad to hear a decision has been made. This sounds like the best option. Good to know that our group will continue to exist, even though some of us (like myself) haven't been as active as we should be. Plan to be around more often going forward. Good to see that a number of old timers are still arou...

Re: Hunting for a new home for the Fellowship
I have also not been around for a very long time, as work and personal situations got in the way, but just retired a couple of weeks ago and will start visiting more often. I'm glad this site is still around. I am also not on FB or any of the other social media. Definitely have not heard good things...

Re: A New Season for the Boards
As usual, I'm late for announcements. So one age is transformed into the next. As much as many of us don't like change, we've seen plenty of it over the years. We look fondly back on the past age and with hope to the new. Wow, it's hard to believe it's been six years under Prim's administration on t...

Re: The Real Middle Earth
Hi Strange, I was a bit surprised too. I looked thru all my stuff and didn't find any reference to it, so I checked IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and they didn't have this version listed. The one they had listed was from 2004 and was another documentary where someone goes thru the New Zealand areas...

Re: Nice little interview with Viggo concerning Hobbit - LOT
It's good that Viggo wants to complete the Strider role himself. He probably has some good ideas for the characterization. His take on the FX progression of the three films is interesting. I somewhat agree. Many of the character pieces that were left out of the theatrical versions, and later put bac...

Re: Local Newspaper Goes Geek For Steelers Super Bowl Win
The 'Brewed on Grant' strip is clever. I copied and sent it to friends of mine, a local couple who are from Pittsburgh, but now live a couple of miles from me here in Gilbert (Phoenix suburb). I know they will enjoy it, especially the 'Terrible Towel' cloak that Frodo is wearing. They had a Super Bo...

Re: Oh, glory...
Wow, if that's 'good' news, I can't even imagine (or wouldn't want to) what 'bad' news would be like. It's rough times right now, but something will come your way, and it'll probably be a step up. Hang in there, Lith, and take care of your health.
