Christopher Tolkien has sailed into the West
Undoubtedly most of us will have heard this news by now in other places. But it felt appropriate to announce it here as well, though I know activity here has been slow. It’s the passing of an age. For all our (my) love of the work of our beloved Professor, there is so much of his work we would never...

Re: Prayer request
Well he is still hanging in there! They were able to shrink some of the tumors. The rest are at least not growing. At the moment they are managing it like a chronic illness. Not trying to cure, just trying to keep it from getting worse. Thank you all for your support from afar.

Re: Prayer request
He has begun chemo and will be starting radiation soon as well. His cancer has spread to all but about 5 organs. And is such that even if they can stop the spread, he will be on some form of chemo for the rest of his life. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Re: New Year's Resolutions?
I’m trying to loose weight. That’s not necessarily a ‘New Year’s Resolution’, as I’ve been at it since May and done well but have hit a very stubborn plateau. Another ongoing goal is to try to get back to ‘me’. Life’s needs have taken me far from the things that I love to do and it...

Re: How does your garden grow?
Our garden has been wonderful to us this winter. Radishes, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, onions (so many onions!!), spinach, mustard greens. With lettuce and carrots on the way. I still just get a huge kick out of being able to go outside and grab something to munch. Have to admit my husband does ...

Anyone watching the newest Who? I've only managed to see 3 episodes and I'm liking Jodi better than Matt so far.

Re: Harry Potter event
For what it's worth at this point, it WAS an amazing experience! I was much more structured than the ALEP gatherings. And we did have Quidditch! The second Hoggstowne gathering is happening this September, though with a change of venue and a bit of reorganization. I encourage anyone interested in Ha...

Sadly I am in no position to take over anything. But I do hope the Scrapbook can be kept accessible online somehow, as I go there kinda regular.

Merry Texas Moot, 2018
Well would you believe the 2015 Moot was the last one before the one I’m posting about now? Life has a terrible way of getting in the way sometimes. But, thanks to Doctor Gamgee, we did Moot again in 2018! He had as many of us as could come out to his place in early December. A couple folks who pl...
