The 'cast' of Firefly!
They've all been busy as little beavers! I sure wish they could have given us another season of 'Firefly'.

I love my Captain! and First Mate! and Pilot! and Mechanic! sigh...
Can't wait till this weekend when I'm surrounded by Browncoats and get to see Serenity on the big screen again.

Correct! How did you guys get that so easily?
Actually, I was just looking for an excuse to post that Cleopatra picture. No point in starting a thread for that show. I've only seen a few episodes and that was many years ago. I seem to recall being entertained. I mean for reasons other than the obvious.
We are in need of threads for Dollhouse and Castle. I started watching both of those shows at the pilot. They are both fantastic shows.
I didn't really want to start two threads so I figured why not a thread for the crew of the Serenity?
Castle started strong and stayed strong. It's a fantastic show and if you don't mind a little preaching to the choir; Nathan Fillion is brilliant and extremely entertaining as Richard Castle.
Dollhouse started kind of weak but picked up steam through the season. The last several episodes were really awesome. As I understand from various reading; the show started weak because Fox messed with Whedon's story. Surprise, surprise. Once they stopped ordering 'Imprint of the week' episodes and let Joss tell his story it quickly picked up steam. Alan was in the last two episodes of season 1. He actually made an appearance earlier in the season but we didn't know it was him. It looks like he is going to be onboard for the long haul. But not in every episode. Rumor has it that Nathan Fillion is going to make an appearance on Dollhouse in season 2.

Re: What do the following shows have in Common?
A segue.... Lifetime had two movies back to back today with Firefly cast members....
Water's Edge with Nathan Fillion as a writer who gets in the middle of a blackmail/murder.
and
Betrayal with Adam Baldwin in a supporting role as a cop on the take ... he's feeding info to the bad guys searching for a hired assasin.
Not their greatest work, but it was still nice to see them.

Cool, thanks sevilodorf! I hadn't heard of either of those movies.
I seem to recall Adam Baldwin making an appearance on Stargate SG1 as well.
I made the appropraite update to the thread title.

Like she said, Cleopatra was a while back and it was on some weird cable channel (I think FX before it had any hits)... kind of a 'B' movie sort of sci-fi series that was trying to cash in on the upswing of females kicking butt. I also saw only a couple of episodes but I think that the picture posted was about the best thing about the series ;-). Maybe some campy humor to go along with it.

Castle fans out there may be interested to know that Heat Wave, the first Nikki Heat novel by Rick Castle, hits stores today.
(I preordered mine.)
The Amazon page has a great editorial review... had me .

And another tidbit for all you Firefly actor fans...
Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, and Alan Tudyk all provide voices to the new game Halo 3: ODST (which stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, in case you care)! I haven't heard any of it yet, but the review says "You'll trade jibes with the likes of Firefly's Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk while scouring the ruins of New Mombasa..."
Sounds like a good time to me!

Those Cleopatra outfits remind me of a Simplicity costume pattern that came out not too long ago... looks like it may be out of print already. I thought it was based on videogame stuff.

Summer Glau plays Orwell in The Cape.... which frankly I can't see lasting too long.

Re: The crew of Serenity! (Not a Firefly/Serenity thread)
Gina Torres is the managing partner in the series Suits --- not a great use of her talents unfortunately.
Summer Glau was Skylar on Alphas the other night. A bit too much typecasting there but at least her role was not quite as cringworthy as poor Sean Bean in a 2010 Lost Future... Syfy movie.... I have no idea why I persist in hoping that some day they will have at least a B movie rather than a C- I'm not usually the optimistic type... maybe it's the heat.

I'm with you on that. I was excited to see her in a new series, but she's barely more than background.sevilodorf wrote:Gina Torres is the managing partner in the series Suits --- not a great use of her talents unfortunately.
