Re: Lore Quiz Round 66~ aka: EZ Round!!
Just got back to civilization yesterday, from vacation in the Wilds of Montana, so I'll need to hurry.... assuming that I can quit giggling at DocG's answers long enough to send in an entry!

Yeah, for 2 weeks now (the whole time I was on vacation) I convinced myself that I had to hurry when I got back, to meet the deadline. Now I find I'm a week early.
Wish I had the same problem at work.

Re: Lore Quiz Round 66~ aka: EZ Round!! We have a winner!
It appears we have several detectives in our midst who were able to discern who our over-stalked Middle Earth celebrities were by their aliases and were able to sniff out their hiding places, making this a great round and placing a number of new entries into the semi-annual drawing! Thanks to all who played and Congratulations to our new Lore Master,
aka: suzie-sheelf!!!!
The next round commences July 5th! Here are the answers to this round's questions and where they can be found:
1. Alias: Elessar aka: Aragorn (FOTR: Farewell to Lorien, p. 421)
2. Alias: Mithrandir aka: Gandalf (FOTR: The Mirror of Galadriel, p. 403)
3. Alias: Gollum aka: Smeagol (FOTR: The Shadow of the Past, p. 58)
4. Alias: Pippin aka: Peregrin Took (FOTR: The Shadow of the Past, p. 46)
5. Alias: Sharkey aka: Saruman (ROTK: The Scouring of the Shire, p. 324)
6. Alias: Ringwinner/ Barrel-rider aka: Bilbo Baggins (TH: Inside Information, p. 223)
7. Alias: My Precious aka: The One Ring (TH: Riddles in the Dark, p. 81)
8. Alias: Half-elven/Peredhil aka: Elrond (FOTR: The Council of Elrond, p. 276)
9. Alias: Mr. Underhill aka: Frodo Baggins (FOTR: The Shadow of the Past, p. 69)
10. Alias: Lady of the Shield-arm aka: Eowyn (ROTK: Appendix A, p. 387)
11. Alias: Merry aka: Meriadoc Brandybuck (FOTR: The Shadow of the Past, p. 46)
12. Alias: Undomiel aka: Arwen (FOTR: Many Meetings, p. 254)
13. Alias: Fangorn aka: Treebeard (TTT: Treebeard, p. 64)
14. Alias: Worm aka: Grima Wormtongue (ROTK: The Scouring of the Shire, p. 325)
15. Alias: Lady of the Wood aka: Galadriel (TTT: The Riders of Rohan, p. 33)
Tie Breakers:
1. A great place to hide “jools” and the kitchen is undoubtedly fully stocked, since a pair of hobbits live there.
Bag-End (FOTR: A Long-Expected Party, p. 24)
2. No one would want to come looking for you in this tunnel, because of the foul reek, as if filth unnameable were piled and hoarded in the dark within. Besides, most people don’t like giant spiders…
Shelob’s Lair (TTT: Shelob’s Lair, p. 368)
3. A dike, trench, great walls and well-stocked caves that run deep into the cliffs make this gorge the perfect refuge for an entire village of people. If you’re going to hide out here, you need to watch out for horse poo!
Helm’s Deep (TTT: Helm’s Deep, p. 143)
4. This boggy, treacherous quagmire of pools, reeds and rushes is certainly off the beaten path and an easy place to hide out. Who would want to follow you to a place where you can be haunted by Neekerbreekers and eaten by midges?
Midgewater Marshes (FOTR: A Knife in the Dark, p. 206)
5. When all else fails, there is one hiding place where few have dared to trod. In this mountain is a great fissure- with fire that blazed and all the cavern filled with a great glare and heat- no need to come unless you have a ring to destroy or really big marshmallows to roast….
Mount Doom (ROTK: Mount Doom, p. 240)
Thanks again, everyone! Til next time~

If memory serves me correctly, Suzie was a LoreMaster (well, not "LoreMaster", but whatever Estel Elfstone called them back then) before I even played the game (the Lore Quiz, I believe). So, mind your manners, young'un!!daughter_of_kings wrote:Congrats and welcome to the ranks of the Loremasters, suzie!
He wore a tall pointed blue hat, a long grey cloak, and a silver scarf. He had a long white beard and bushy eyebrows that stuck out beyond the brim of his hat.
