Re: Texas Moot Dates, 2011
Well, at this point, I am going to call it in favor of the weekend which has the most votes: July 15th-17th.
Any ideas on what you want to eat? I am happy to buy the food (I'll cook some too) but don't want to deprive anyone of the joy either. Any "can't/won't eats?" And who all is officially coming? I have a friend here in town who is interested in joining us so I'm sure the welcome matt will be out from our board folks. And, of course, we will have to plan a few odds and ends to keep us busy with LOTR fun.
So let's have at it -- Who's up for What?

Re: Texas Moot Dates, 2011
Officially, I will be there. Unofficially, my husband is considering coming, too. (It's a shock, I know.)
I will be happy to cook, as need be, or at least throw a salad together, and I'll be just as happy to eat whatever anyone else cooks. Hubby, though, is allergic to mushrooms and blueberries; and he can't eat onions or peppers, either, although he likes stuff cooked with them, as long as he can pick out the pieces.
Edited: Never mind Hubby. He has commitments at work that will preclude him joining us.

I can bring bread...was thinking about my French sourdough with Rye, though I could bring plain French bread if anyone doesn't like sourdough or Rye.

Sorry Doc... Best Western online shows no rooms available that weekend, or for most of rest of the month... we have reservations at the LaQuinta on Bob Bullock Loop. Just FYI in case someone else decides to join the party.DoctorGamgee wrote:Here is the Hotel Info for those coming. Best place to be and within 3 miles of your final destination...

OK, so Onions and Peppers are back on the menu...
Since y'all will be travelling, I will have Dinner on Friday -- Here are some ideas for your Yea/Nea:
Appetizers: Chips and Salsa/Guacamole
Meat: Bacon Explosion or Sweet&Spicy Pork tenderloin
Carb: Käsespätzle (Baked Noodles with cheese and garlic)
Veggies: Green Beans and Salad
Dessert: Cherry-Limeade and Ginger-Peach Tartlets
All of these are pretty easy to make, so if you really hate/fear one let me know and I can substitute.
The Bacon Explosion is a Meat-roll-loaf-thing with Bacon, Sausage, Hamburger, Cheese with a light BBQ glaze. Not overly heavy, very flavorful, and totally yummy (my pics on Facebook can give you a better idea of what to expect). The Pork is braized with soy sauce and garlic, then topped with a glaze of raspberry/chipotle that is the perfect mix of not too sweet/not too spicy.
There will always be the obligitory PB&J/Chicken Nuggest for the kids...
Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I vote for the pork! The rest sound beyond delightful. That said I am not sure if I'll be there in time for supper. I just took a lot of time off and need to again in a couple months and this past hiatus had some pretty bad results. So I don't know yet if they will let me off another day or half day. But after reading that menu I'm sure gonna try!
I'm in for one or the other or both breakfasts as usual. I'll bring sausage and eggs and do short order by request.

I vote for the pork, too! And the rest of the menu sounds deeeelicious.
Although, depending on the flavor of J, the kids' menu sounds pretty good, too.

Ooh, I'd go with the pork, too. Wish we could come. I love the raspberry/chipotle combo on pork.
