The Hobbit Red Carpet Premier
Okay, I'm sure most people here know about this, but for those who don't...The One Ring dot Net is putting together a package for the Red Carpet Premier in Wellington of The Hobbit at the end of November. Details still being worked out, but it looks like a week of festivities including a tour of Hobbiton, the Red Carpet Premier, the One Ring/Red Carpet Tour Company premier party, and some other activities. It will be leaving from Los Angeles, USA. For those who already have their airfare booked, or plan to, they are going to have a land-only deal as well. I most assuredly plan to be there, and I actually already have my airline tickets. Anyone else here going to be coming along? funfunfun!!

Re: The Hobbit Red Carpet Premier
I'm booked on the Red Carpet company Hobbit premier tour. Got my Air New Zealand tickets the other day, leaving LA on Tuesday, Nov 20, 9:15 pm. Returning on Dec 7 or 8.
Maybe we'll bump into one another somewhere/sometime!?
Anyone else from the boards here going too?

Ah, good to hear you are going on the tour, Tolman Jr. You'll have a blast! I was on a Red Carpet Tour Company tour years ago, before the ROTK came out, and it was fantastic.
Just a clarification for those who might be confused, the Red Carpet Premier I'm talking about is NOT the Red Carpet Tour Company Hobbit tour. It's a separate one-week shindig being put together by the folks at The One Ring dot net. It will include the Red Carpet World Premier in Wellington as well as the joint TORN/Red Carpet Tour Company party and some other activities including, I am told, a tour of Hobbiton and a visit to the WETA Cave. They have yet to finalize plans. Stay tuned.

News just in from The One Ring dot Net's website:
In a few days TORn will be taking deposits that help us secure all the necessities to make this happen. We will ask for $300 (non-refundable after all trip details are announced) with the balance due closer to the travel dates, probably about 45 days prior to the event.
The trip will be a seven-day, six-night affair happening mostly in Wellington, site of the World Premiere of The Hobbit at the Embassy Theater. To be clear, that theater holds 750 people in its main auditorium and we are just not getting in there with cast and crew. (In fact, numbers of cast and crew will be far too large to all be in there either.) But we will be in the city of Wellington celebrating the grand event that promises to be at least as amazing as the similar event for “The Return of the King.” We expect to be along the city’s lengthy Red Carpet, although details have not been finalized.
As part of the excursion, we are also planning a trip to the Hobbiton Movie Set which simply cannot be missed. (Details after the break, please click on!)
Nov 25 will be our first day in Wellington with TheOneRing.net and Red Carpet Tours teaming up for an excellent party on the 26th, following in the tradition of the similar ROTK party that is now legendary. The 28th is the day of the premiere and all of Wellington as well as a good portion of Los Angeles and/or New Zealand is expected. Our group will leave Wellington for Auckland the 29th with the Hobbiton set trip from there set for the 30th. The good times come to an end on December 1, the travel-home day. Interspersed in the week-long adventure will be other fun opportunities and lots of good fellowship as well as time for personal adventures in Wellington. There may be a few bonus events as well, but no guarantees.
Preliminary prices for the land-only portion of the trip that includes ground transport:
$1600 for a four-star hotel, double occupancy (add $575 for a single room)
$2000 for a five-star hotel, double occupancy (add $975 for a single room)
We do realize this doesn’t answer every question, but that is the best info we have at the moment with the opportunity to make a deposit coming soon! Please do spread the word to other fans and friends who will want to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Re: The Hobbit Red Carpet Premier
They've posted the full itinerary now. Unfortunately it's too expensive for me, so I won't be joining the One Ring group. However, I am still going to be there in Wellington with a friend for the premier! For those interested, here's the info:
